This week is about training for cross country skiing, with daily training sessions, distance, strength, intervals and technical coaching, all designed to fit your level of fitness with a goal to gain a greater understanding of the training methods used in cross country skiing.

Are you transferring from other sports, and need an understanding of the training methods used for cross country skiing, develop your fitness and technical skills for cross country skiing.
These weeks are very well suited to those who are looking at racing at all levels, wanting to improve your marathon times, or have a specific area of your fitness that needs addressing. We will also work on strength training on snow as well during the week.
Each day we will start with a training block, and this could be a long distance ski, long or short interval training or a number of strength sessions. The afternoon will also include structured training programs and include technical coaching as well.
The local ski hire is able to offer race skis and boots for those who wish.

Suggested flights to and from Salzburg or Innsbruck.
It is suggested that you look at the first flight in and the last flight out, this will give plenty of time for the train or bus connections.
Travel time is about 2.5 hours - 4 hours depending on connections and which airport.
Travel via bus or train to Tassanbach (then local bus or taxi)
Bus service from Innsbruck train station to Tassanbach. This service is a direct transfer in new modern coaches, with toilets, and with a cost of only €20.00, with a travel time of 2.5 hours
Travel via train to Obertilliach:
From all major airports, it is recommended that you travel to Tassanbach, which is the closest town to Obertilliach
Obertilliach is a village in Austria's Osttirol, not far from the Italian border and 40 minutes from the popular skiing town of Dobbiaco. It has become a favorite training area for biathletes due to its snow record, and in recent years has developed some excellent tracks and a first rate shooting range, which has enabled it host IBU Cup biathlon races. Obertilliach is also renowned for its rustic charm, most of the houses are made from wood and there are some excellent cafes, hotels and an all-important bakery. The tracks are close to the accommodation and there is a wide range of skating and classic trails. Apart from the biathlon, Obertilliach hosts the classic version of the Dolomitenlauf ski marathon and is used by top cross-country skiers and biathletes for training.
