Hochfilzen is the Austrian national biathlon and cross country ski centre, which once a year hosts one of the early season biathlon world cups and in 2017 will host the biathlon world championships.
The race starts in St Johann in Tirol, this is a short train ride, 17 minutes away, which on some days we will use to visit the race course. On the day of the race we will look at arranging a local taxi to and from the start.
This week is based in Hochfilzen, which has a large network of ski trails heading out from the village in all direction. In the centre of the village is a well designed teaching and training loop.
Head out on the trials along the valley and the trails become more demanding and technical and have alternative tracks to make for a easy loop back to the village if required.

The village has a very good ski hire and ski shop, situated in the Fair Hotel, which we recommend for the group accommodation.

Accommodation
We recommend that the group book into the Fair Hotel, this is a new hotel very close to the roller ski track and the village centre.
  • Fair Hotel
The village is able to offer a wide range of other types of accommodation depending on your budget for the week, for a full list please contact the tourist office.
