Skate Weeks in Obertilliach

This season, we will run two dedicated skate weeks to help you learn or refine your skating.

Each week is open to all levels of skier, from the first timer to the most advanced skier, for those who are transferring from roller skiing to on-snow for the first time.  

Focus during the week is to develop all the aspects of skating and all the techniques required to become an efficient skater

Each day, we will work on all specific techniques with video feedback, fault finding, and correction drills. 

The second part of the day will be based on a distance ski; this will allow you to work on elements of your technique as we ski with technical adjustments as we ski. ​

  • Body position
  • Timing
  • Movement 
  • Skate 1, 2, 3, Free Skate
  • Down hill work
  • Hills, cornering
  • Linking all techniques with smooth transitions
  • Up hill methods and techniques 
  • Ski and equipment selection and waxing 
  • Transferring from roller skiing to on snow
